SATELLITE GARDEN AT WSE

Using the design and construction coaching of professional and sustainable landscape designer Errol Schumann of New West Landscapes, a satellite community garden has been made in the yard surrounding the Western Sustainability Exchange’s office at 215 S. Third St.

Many volunteers provided their energy to remove sod, add soil amendments, construct beds, dig the soil and get the garden ready for planting. An edible landscape of fruit bearing bushes and shrubs was planted in the front yard.

Twelve gardening plots were made available for community members to lease this season.
